PURE ONE Travel Launches “Spirit of Kyushu” – An 11 Day Journey Through Japan’s Cultural Heartland
New small group itinerary explores volcanic landscapes, historic traditions and authentic regional Japan beyond the main tourist routes
PURE ONE Travel has announced the launch of its new 11 Days “Spirit of Kyushu” journey, a carefully curated small group experience designed to showcase one of Japan’s most culturally rich and naturally diverse regions.
The itinerary explores Kyushu, Japan’s southernmost main island, offering travellers a unique blend of dramatic volcanic landscapes, historic towns, traditional culture and authentic local experiences rarely found in more heavily visited parts of the country.
“This is a very special journey,” said Wesley Baker, Founder of PURE ONE. “Kyushu offers a completely different perspective on Japan. It is less crowded, deeply cultural and incredibly diverse in terms of landscapes and experiences. It is the Japan many travellers do not realise exists.”
Exploring a Different Side of Japan
While many first time visitors focus on cities such as Tokyo and Kyoto, Kyushu presents a more relaxed and immersive experience of Japanese life.
The 11 day programme takes travellers through a region shaped by volcanic activity, historic trade connections and centuries old traditions, where natural beauty and cultural heritage are closely intertwined.
From geothermal landscapes and hot spring towns to historic castles and coastal scenery, the journey offers a varied and engaging exploration of Japan’s southern island.
Travellers can expect a carefully balanced itinerary combining guided experiences with time to explore independently, allowing for both structure and personal discovery.
Volcanoes, Onsen and Cultural Heritage
Kyushu is home to some of Japan’s most striking natural features, including active volcanic regions and some of the country’s most famous onsen destinations.
